Overview
The Lab is a hip hop station in GTA 5 and GTA Online hosted by The Alchemist and Oh No, made up entirely of original music produced for the game. Nothing on it was licensed in from outside. It suits players who want a sound that belongs to Los Santos rather than a playlist of familiar hits.
The Alchemist and Oh No also worked on the game's score, and the station carries that feel: dusty drums, sampled loops and a slow, heavy bounce. Guest verses run across the tracklist, with Earl Sweatshirt and Freddie Gibbs among the rappers on it. Links between tracks are short, so the whole thing plays like a producer session you have been let into.
It was not in the original release. It arrived after launch with the PC version and later reached consoles, and the music was also released as the album Welcome to Los Santos. Pick it for a cruise through South Los Santos when Radio Los Santos feels too shiny.
