Chop is Franklin's loyal Rottweiler-mix and the only named animal companion in GTA 5, effectively a supporting character rather than ambient wildlife. He is loyal and playful with Franklin but aggressive toward anyone he sees as a threat. During story missions you briefly take direct control of him to sniff out trails and chase down targets, using his senses to find things Franklin cannot on his own. Outside of missions, he can be cared for through the iFruit companion app, which lets you feed him and check in on him between jobs. His model also doubles as the game's Rottweiler pedestrian, so the look you get from that breed on the street is built on Chop himself. He is found at Franklin's home and in the story missions built around him, rather than wandering the map like ordinary wildlife.
Belongs to Franklin's friend Lamar and later lives with Franklin; controllable in specific story missions and manageable via the Chop companion app.
