Fish are the small, common animals of GTA 5's waters, swimming in schools through both the ocean and the inland rivers and lakes of San Andreas. They are skittish and scatter the moment something bigger, including the player, gets close. Because they live in inland water as well as the ocean, they turn up in more places than most other marine animals, from coastal shallows to rivers far from the sea. An underwater peyote plant lets you swim the seas as a fish, giving a small, vulnerable view of the water that bigger predators normally hunt in. Look for schools of them in calm water anywhere from the coastline to inland waterways, rather than only out at sea. They are a good sign that a spot has other, larger marine life nearby.
