Hao is a young street racer who challenges Franklin to a series of illegal races through the streets of Los Santos. Confident behind the wheel, he treats every race as a chance to prove whose driving and whose car actually deserve respect. His mission is most players' first real introduction to the game's street racing, run on public roads against traffic rather than on a closed circuit. Franklin takes the challenge personally, and the exchanges between the two of them add some competitive energy to what is otherwise a fairly simple string of point to point races. In the enhanced versions of the game, this side of street racing expands well beyond Hao's original challenge. Hao himself does not carry a wider storyline, but his introduction is where a lot of players first get a feel for street racing outside of missions.
