The Ballas are one of the largest and most violent street gangs in Los Santos, controlling much of the Davis area under their purple colors. They are the primary enemies of the Families, a rivalry that runs through much of the story. You meet the Ballas heavily through Franklin and Lamar's story arcs, since both have history with the gang before the game even begins. Beyond the Families rivalry, they also supply drugs and muscle to other criminal players around the city, extending their reach past Davis itself. Their conflict with the Families is one of the more personal threads in Franklin's side of the story. Expect the purple colors to mean trouble whenever you are in or near their territory.
Found throughout Davis and Grove Street; central to several Franklin and Lamar missions.
