The Families are a predominantly African-American street gang rooted in the poorer neighborhoods of South Los Santos. Franklin Clinton and his friend Lamar Davis are affiliated members early in the story, which makes the gang one of the player's first windows into Los Santos street life. Identified by their green colors, the Families are locked in a long-running turf war with the rival Ballas.
Encountered in Chamberlain Hills and Strawberry through Franklin's storyline and neighborhood gang spawns in South Los Santos.
