The Cougar, also known as the mountain lion, is the most dangerous land predator in GTA 5. It stalks remote mountains and dense forest, usually far from roads, and it can kill the player in a single pounce. It ambushes rather than chases in the open, so the real danger is not seeing it before it attacks. It is one of the animals Trevor can hunt with Cletus, and it is also playable through a peyote plant, letting you switch from potential prey to the apex predator of the mountains. Because it favors remote, forested high ground, both the live cougar and its peyote plant are easier to find well away from towns and highways. Move carefully through mountain forest if you want to spot one before it spots you.
Lurks in remote mountains and forests of northern San Andreas; huntable and playable via a Cougar peyote plant.
