A slim jim is a thin strip of metal that slides down between a car window and its frame to hook the lock rod inside the door, popping the lock without a key. Locksmiths and repossession crews used them for years before modern cars added alarms and electronic locks that make the trick far less reliable. The tool showed up in the September 2022 leak, pointing to a car entry method in GTA 6. Because it is a leaked reference and not a confirmed mechanic, Rockstar has not said whether it replaces the usual smash and drive approach, speeds up car theft, or only works on older vehicle types. Nothing about how it fits alongside other theft methods has been shown. Consider it an unconfirmed leak rather than a planned feature for now.
