Airboat / Fanboat is exactly what it sounds like, a flat-bottom hull pushed across shallow water by a big rear-mounted fan instead of a propeller. It is modeled on the real Panther Airboats that run wildlife tours through the Everglades, and it appears in GTA 6's first trailer and in official screenshots. The type last showed up in GTA San Andreas and Vice City Stories, so its return marks a real gap of close to two decades. Airboats exist for exactly the terrain Leonida is built around: marsh grass and shallow swamp that would strand a normal boat with a propeller. Real airboats are known for a lot of speed across flat water and very little in the way of brakes, since there is no propeller or rudder to bite against. Rockstar has not confirmed how the GTA 6 version handles, what it costs or how you get one.
Rockstar has not confirmed how you get one. Since airboats are working vehicles in Florida, the reasonable guess is that they spawn around docks and settlements in the swampy backcountry rather than sitting in a showroom. Treat that as expectation, not confirmed detail.
