The Brute Camper is a small motorhome built on a full-size van chassis. Rockstar's real-world reference is the 1996 to 2002 Chevrolet Express, a heavy-duty GM van that aftermarket firms regularly converted into cutaway campers. It returns for Grand Theft Auto VI from GTA 5, and it appeared years earlier in GTA San Andreas under a different name, Journey. A camper conversion fits the coastal, road-trip character Rockstar has built into Leonida, a state modeled on Florida with keys, swampland and small towns strung along the coast, though that is a reasonable reading of the setting rather than anything Rockstar has stated about this specific vehicle. The two-seat cab and four-speed gearbox recorded for it belong to the existing GTA 5 version pulled from the game files, not to any figures released for GTA 6. The Camper reached public attention through leaked gameplay footage from September 2022, well before Rockstar's own marketing began. Price, handling and how players obtain one in Leonida remain unannounced, and there is no word yet on whether the interior or exterior changes from the version already in GTA 5.
