Declasse Moonbeam

Overview

Declasse's Moonbeam is GTA's plain-Jane compact van, a shape borrowed from the Chevrolet Astro and GMC Safari built between 1985 and 1994, two of the few American vans of that era to use rear-wheel drive rather than a front-drive minivan layout. Rockstar also lists the second-generation Jeep Liberty SUV among its references, a boxier compact SUV sold last decade, which suggests some of the Moonbeam's later styling passes borrowed from a more modern shape. In GTA 5 the Moonbeam earned its Muscle class listing less for how it drives stock and more for what players do to it afterward. It became a favorite blank canvas for wild custom builds, a deliberately unglamorous van that hides real performance potential once modified. That reputation is tied to the current version and its file-recorded four-seat, rear-wheel-drive setup, not to anything confirmed about how the GTA 6 model will behave. The Moonbeam surfaced for GTA 6 through gameplay clips that leaked in September 2022. Rockstar has not confirmed a price, stats, or whether the modification options that made the original famous will carry over to Leonida at all.
