The Assault Sniper is built on the M4A1 Block I, which puts it in marksman rifle territory rather than the heavy bolt-action camp. That means more range and precision than a standard carbine while keeping semi-auto follow-up shots. A good middle ground for players who want reach without giving up their rate of fire.
A precision rifle like this tends to unlock later at a gun store in the Ammu-Nation style, or during a mission. GTA 6 gun shops have not been detailed by Rockstar, so the exact unlock path is not confirmed.
