The Smoke Grenade is a non-lethal thrown device based on the M18, sold under Hawk & Little. It puts up a cloud of cover you can use to break line of sight, reposition, or slip past enemies. It deals no direct damage, so its value is in movement and escape rather than a fight.
A support throwable like this is likely bought at Ammu-Nation or found during missions. GTA 6 has not confirmed store stock yet, so treat the shop route as the probable one once it opens.
