The American Eel is Anguilla rostrata, a long, snake-like fish with slippery, mucus-covered skin found in rivers and coastal waters along the eastern United States. It spends most of its life in fresh or brackish water before making one final journey out to sea. That journey ends far out in the Atlantic's Sargasso Sea, where the species spawns and dies, the reverse of a migration pattern like a salmon's. Leonida's tidal creeks and brackish shallows, drawn from Florida's own coastal waterways, are exactly the kind of secretive habitat this eel favors before it ever heads offshore. Official trailer footage confirms this eel is part of the game. Whether it can be caught by rod or line has not been shown by Rockstar.
