The Green Sea Turtle is Chelonia mydas, a large sea turtle named for the greenish fat beneath its shell rather than the shell's own color. Unusually for a sea turtle, adults feed mainly on seagrass and algae instead of meat. It nests on sandy beaches, including stretches of the real Florida coast, and spends most of its life grazing seagrass beds close to reefs and shallows. That pairing of reef and open water fits Leonida's coastal waters well, and the species is protected in real life given how vulnerable its nests are. Official GTA 6 trailer footage confirms this turtle made the cut. Whether it can be approached, caught or only observed swimming past has not been said.
