Whale here covers various Cetacea sp. rather than one species, the largest animals expected in Leonida's waters if the entry makes the final game. Real whales off the Florida and wider Atlantic coast range from migrating humpbacks to the critically endangered North Atlantic right whale, which calves in warm coastal waters each winter. Whichever species Rockstar may be drawing on, whales are open-ocean animals that surface to breathe and cover huge distances, so encountering one at all in the real world usually means being well offshore. That fits the far edge of Leonida's map rather than anywhere near the coast or the keys. This entry comes from the September 2022 leak rather than any trailer, so treat it as unconfirmed for now. Rockstar has not shown a whale on screen, and nothing about how one would behave near a boat or a player is known.
