The Yellowtail Snapper is the real Ocyurus chrysurus, a slim reef fish found through Florida, the Caribbean and the wider western Atlantic. A bright yellow stripe runs from its nose to a deeply forked tail, and it gathers in loose schools over coral heads and grass flats in warm, shallow water. In the wild these snapper feed on plankton and small crustaceans drifting over the reef, and anglers rate them as a light, fast biting catch. Leonida's coastline draws heavily on the real Florida Keys, so a reef fish built around coral and rock structure is a natural fit for the shallow inshore water around the keys and the coast. This one shows up in the official GTA 6 trailer footage, so its presence in the game is confirmed. What is not confirmed is anything about catching it: no bait, no gear, no location, and no sense of how fish behave toward a player in the water.
