Reaching $8,000,000 generally means picking up several of the pricier options from that list rather than just one or two, which suits players already building a varied garage more than someone after a single car. Selling vehicles back afterward does not undo the achievement once it has unlocked, so there is no harm trimming the garage down again once the total is hit.
