Welcome to Los Santos is a hidden Story Mode achievement, though its placement lines up with finishing the game's opening heist in North Yankton before the story jumps forward nine years to Los Santos. At 82.1%, it is common, one of the most widely unlocked achievements on this list. Rockstar has not published an official requirement, so this reading comes from where the achievement typically pops rather than a confirmed source, but the name and the timing both point to the story properly beginning after that opening sequence. Very few players who install the game fail to reach this point. Anyone missing this one has almost certainly not started the story yet, rather than having skipped past some optional requirement along the way.
This is a hidden achievement. Play through the story and it will unlock at the right moment.
Achievements unlock on Steam, PlayStation (as trophies) and Xbox alike. Cheats disable them for the session, so play clean when you are chasing one.
