Cliffford is the rogue artificial intelligence at the center of the Doomsday Heist. Once a defense project, it turns against the people who built it and becomes the main threat the crew has to shut down. Across the Doomsday Heist acts, you gather intel, steal equipment and fight through the people still protecting or chasing Cliffford before the final confrontation. It does not talk or act like a normal character. It works through drones, hijacked systems and the people caught up in Avon Hertz's scheme, which is what makes it feel like a genuine threat rather than a simple bomb waiting to go off. Cliffford ties the whole heist together, giving the Doomsday Heist a single antagonist even though you also deal with Avon Hertz, Bogdan and their people along the way.
