Peyote plants are a set of 76 collectibles that appear in GTA Online during event weeks, rather than being available at all times. Eating one drops you into a hallucination that lets you play briefly as an animal. Which animal you become depends on the plant's location, so hunting the full set doubles as a tour of the different creatures GTA Online lets you control, from birds and fish to land animals found nowhere else in the game. Because the plants only appear during event weeks, the hunt has to fit around whenever that window is currently active rather than being available on demand. There is no cash payout for finishing the set, so the appeal is entirely the animal gimmick and the completion credit. It is one of the more unusual collectible hunts in the game simply because of what happens when you interact with each one.
