The Snowball Launcher is a seasonal heavy weapon in GTA 5 and GTA Online, handed out free during the festive period. It first appeared with The Chop Shop update. In the data it has 0 damage, a fire rate of about 24 rounds per minute, a range figure of 150 and a 20 round magazine. The 0 damage figure does not make it harmless. Its snowballs are projectiles, so their effect on impact is handled by the projectile itself rather than by a bullet damage value, and a hit knocks a target around in a way normal rounds do not. The slow rate of fire and the long range figure tell you what it is for: lobbing snowballs across a street at other players in freemode, not fighting NPCs in missions. Twenty rounds per magazine is plenty for a snowball fight. It is a novelty weapon in the same spirit as the Firework Launcher. When the festive season ends, Ammu-Nation stops stocking it, so grab it while it is free and it stays in your inventory.
