The American Flamingo is Phoenicopterus ruber, a tall pink wading bird recognizable from a distance thanks to its long legs, curved neck and bright plumage. That pink color comes directly from the algae and small crustaceans it filters out of shallow water. Flamingos feed with their bent bills held upside down in the water, sweeping side to side, and the species was nearly wiped out of Florida by plume hunting before slowly recolonizing the state's coast in recent years. Leonida's salt flats and coastal lagoons, drawn from that same Florida Bay habitat, make an easy fit for a bird this recognizable. The official GTA 6 trailers confirm this flamingo made the game. Nothing about how it behaves around a player, or whether a flock can be approached, has been shown.
