The Mottled Duck is Anas fulvigula, a dabbling duck that lives year round in Florida and along the Gulf coast rather than migrating like most of its relatives. Its mottled brown plumage looks close to a female mallard at a glance. It feeds by dabbling at the surface of shallow marshes and ponds, tipping forward to reach plants and small invertebrates just below the waterline. Leonida's wetlands and quiet backwaters are exactly the kind of still, shallow water this duck needs, and a year-round resident fits a setting built around permanent marsh rather than a seasonal one. It appears in GTA 6 trailer footage, confirming its inclusion. Rockstar has not shown whether it can be hunted, disturbed or simply watched from a distance.
