Catalan Key is a confirmed Vice-Dale County location, one of several islands and keys named on the Leonida map. No specific real-world counterpart has been confirmed for it. The name nods toward Catalonia, and Spanish-derived place names are common across real Miami-Dade County, a legacy of Cuban, Spanish and wider Latin American influence on South Florida life. Biscayne Bay itself holds a scatter of small islands and keys off the Miami-Dade coast, some natural mangrove islands and some built up from dredged fill over the decades, most of them ringed by shallow water rather than open ocean and reachable only by boat. Which of those, if any, a Leonida writer had in mind for Catalan Key is not something Rockstar has confirmed. No interior, no activity and no enterable footprint has been shown for it.
