Overview

Watson Bay is a confirmed Mariana County location, matched to Cedar Key, a real fishing town on Florida's Gulf Coast rather than in the Keys chain itself, even though Mariana County is otherwise built around the real Keys.

Cedar Key sits far north of the real Florida Keys, out on a cluster of small islands off Florida's Gulf coast, and it has stayed small and quiet compared with the rest of the state's coastline, its economy built around clam farming and a slow, old Florida pace rather than resorts or nightlife. Wooden buildings and a working waterfront give it a look closer to a historic fishing village than a tourist strip, and the gap between Cedar Key's real Gulf coast location and Mariana County's Keys-inspired setting shows how loosely Leonida rearranges real Florida geography.

What role, if any, the town plays beyond its name on the map is still unknown. No activity, interior or storyline has been tied to it.
